Elevation: 1,970m (Marangu Gate) to 2,720m (Mandara Hut)
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Begin the trek through the lush rainforest, home to blue monkeys and diverse flora.
Overnight stay at Mandara Hut, with dinner provided.
Elevation: 2,720m to 3,720m
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours
Traverse through heathland with views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Acclimatization begins as the terrain changes.
Overnight at Horombo Hut with dinner.
Elevation: 3,720m to 4,703m
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours
Cross the “Saddle,” a barren expanse between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Overnight at Kibo Hut with an early dinner to prepare for the summit attempt.
Elevation: 4,703m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) and descent to 3,720m (Horombo Hut)
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours (ascent and descent)
Start the summit climb around midnight. Reach Gillman’s Point (5,685m) before heading to Uhuru Peak for sunrise.
Descend to Horombo Hut for rest and overnight stay.
Elevation: 3,720m to 1,970m
Hiking Time: 6–7 hours
Complete your descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate.
Receive your summit certificate and transfer to Moshi/Arusha for celebration and rest.
